2021 Brash Higgins CINS - cinsaultRegular price $34.00
Made from a block of Cinsault vines which we grafted to a former Semillon patch at neighbouring Lennon Vineyard in 2013. 2021 in the Vale is considered an ideal vintage with healthy yields and a long even season, resulting in balanced wines with finesse, brightness and deep flavours. This is the fifth vintage of CINS made at the Brash Higgins winery.
This is an early drinking style of wine, the gentle handling and minimal plunging evokes aromas of bright red cherries and spicy stemmy notes, with a palate that is chock full of red tinned cherries...great wine, perfect for chilling on a hot day or drinking on a mild evening.
"With its lighter skins and soft perfume, Cinsault is particularly suitable for flirtatious early-drinking reds. Sun loving and widely planted in the Mediterranean, our CINS happily calls the warm, dry soils of McLaren Vale home. Lower yields and longer ferments with a whisper of whole bunch goodness help evoke and engaging edge to the wine."
‘Brilliant ruby in hue, the nose is cherry starburst with notes of blood orange zest, ginger, nutmeg and white pepper. The palate is medium bodied, crunchy cranberry-like acidity, well-balanced and vibrant and the finish is clean and refreshing; laden with interweaving cherry, ginger and white pepper notes.’ – Brad Hickey, Vinitor, 23 July 2021.
