Hughes & Hughes Lees Aged Chardonnay 2021 - Coal River Valley

This is a wine for grown-ups. If you get good Chardonnay and understand the role acid has in the flavour and longevity of a wine, then this wine is for you. It is more mature than the Hughes & Hughes Chardonnay.

Aromas of wet stone, gun flint and white peach flood the nostrils, and the palate is far more developed texturally than the Hughes & Hughes Chardonnay (its hard not to compare). Acid is a component of the flavour profile and then it is a beautiful chorus of citrus. Grapefruit dominates and then there is an amalgam of lime and orange at the edges.

This is seriously good Chardonnay, if you can exercise patience in a couple of years this will be incredibly good Chardonnay.
