2021 Lightfoot & Sons Myrtle Point Chardonnay

I taste a lot of wine and that requires me to do a fair bit of spitting. Occasionally though I try a wine and think "no, I am not going to spit that". So I found myself tasting the Lightfoot & Sons Myrtle Point Chardonnay, a little wary because the last two vintages left me wanting (a little too austere in style). 

The 2021 Lightfoot & Sons Myrtle Point Chardonnay is a cracker, it hit the sweet spot for everything I like...a balance of stone fruit and citrus (nectarines, oranges and peaches), some minerality on the nose and completely balanced. Textures are perfect and the slightest hint of nougat at the back. Oh wow.

I would suggest chilling it and then giving it an hour to open up.
