2021 Ravensworth Rye Park Gruner Veltliner

I am a huge fan of Gruner Veltliner, it is such a distinct variety and when you have tried an amazing Gruner you know it. 

But to be honest I struggle with a lot of Australian Gruner's because winemakers tend to lend a bit of influence to the winemaking process...resulting in something akin to a flabby Riesling and that is not Gruner.

But Bryan Martin has nailed it, this is Gruner! And its delicious, delivering lovely citrus tang on the palate combined with ethereal aromatics and it is beautifully textured.

Sadly the source of this wonderful wine might not be able to supply fruit next year, so Bryan's wonderful nod to Austria may go the way of the Dodo! 

Only 60 dozen made, so grab at least one while you have the chance (no it won't become a collectors item...).
