2017 Yangarra Estate Museum Release RoussanneRegular price $36.00
This wine is why I love Roussanne, it typifies everything I like about this variety.
This is "Museum Release" so the wine has a few years in the bottle (5 to be exact) and that bottle age has allowed all those delicious characters to evolve and show themselves. It celebrates the 10th vintage of growing Roussanne at Yangarra.
This is super Yummy wine, If you have not tried Roussane before, then I suggest you give it a whirl.
Aromas of funky passionfruit, pineaple and fairy floss leap from the glass followed by the most sensual, rich round and savoury experience. The palate is silky and supple with flavours of apricot, peaches and oranges with the vaguest hint of nuttiness at the end. Great length and a good finish. Serve with food and you will never look back.
When you drink Roussanne like this, it is not hard to understand the appeal this grape has. At 5 years old, it is just getting started and is the ideal example of exercising patience and not drinking wines young. Rich, boisterous even. Roussanne is a textural wine, you might say silky but not oily. Full of rich fruit it explodes on the palate, backed by spice and minerality it goes for ages.
Great on its own, better with food.
Yangarra is a single-vineyard estate situated in the north-east of the McLaren Vale region, South Australia. Yangarra's combination of ancient geology, high altitude and Mediterranean climate provide the ideal growing conditions for the best grape varieties of the southern Rhone.
